What does it mean to be a member of FUBAR Labs?
In addition to all of the benefits of being part of a friendly community of makers and nerds, membership at FUBAR Labs gets you 24/7 access to the space and all of the machines in it. This includes lathes, mills, 3d printers, laser cutting, welding and more.
Members are also allowed to participate in any of the classes we host for just the cost of materials, and they’re allowed to organize and host their own events at the space.
How do I become a member?
The first step in the process of becoming a member is spending some time at the space. Show up during Open Hack, or email us, tag us on social media! Our members are around all sorts of times, and love sharing the joy of making with others!
Afterwards, an existing member of FUBAR Labs will need to sponsor your membership, and submit the paperwork with you. Afterwards, the application is submitted to the board members. With their approval, the general membership will vote on your application at the next monthly member meeting, and you’ve joined the ranks of FUBAR Labs! Online Application form is here
Non-Members can still join our Discord server and interact, grow, and become a member of the community before committing completely.
How much does membership cost?
As of Q3 2022, dues will be $98/month, paid quarterly. This goes into paying the rent, and ensuring all of our members have a space to do their making in, including you (hopefully)!
For at-risk, students, and other folks who might not be able to cover the full membership, please reach out and we’ll see if we can help.
Supporting Members
If you don’t want to commit to full key-holding membership, please consider becoming a supporting member. This is a recurring quarterly tax deductible donation of $100 (or other amount). Let us know either in-person, a DM to officers in Discord, or by email to info@fubarlabs.org.
